Beyond the Bars “Practical Producers Program” centers around our students learning how to record and write their own original music. Our students are divided into two groups where they learn from both trained musicians and mc’s and professional audio engineers. One group of students spends the first half of the session learning how to properly become audio engineers and use a variety of recording equipment to understand the technological components of producing. The second group of students learn how to play piano or write lyrics with an MC so that they can create their own music while later recording. The groups then switch so that they will receive a well rounded education full of both musical and career skills. Students in this program learn how to both produce and write their own original music. Additionally upon request students have access to professional mc’s from Philadelphia who can assist in how to express their emotions in a positive way.
