Mobile Studio
BTB’s Mobile Studio works to provide musical recording and programming opportunities all over Philadelphia at community events and workshops supporting orgs and schools. Wherever youth are they can try out music and then be connected to ongoing programming in their community.
Door to Door Delivery
All students should have access to musical instruments and recording equipment. Our city is full of talented young people who deserve the space to write and record their own original music. In addition to providing programming Beyond the Bars works with our supportive community to assist our students by free musical instruments and recording equipment and delivering it to their door. We do not want accessible musical spaces to just be throughout our city but in every home where a young person lives. Students can borrow drums, guitars, keyboards, midi gear, audio interfaces, mics, and recording software to continue their musical journey. To date we have donate over 400 instruments or pieces of recording equipment to our students. Most weekends you can see our teachers cars driving throughout the city dropping off equipment for the next generation of talented artists.
